SENATOR ADENIYI AYODELE ADEGBONMIRE, SAN - THE ONLY WAY TO GOOD GOVERNANCE IN ONDO CENTRAL

In the journey of a people toward progress, there comes a time when leadership must be defined not by noise, but by results. Not by promises, but by performance. Not by title, but by track record.

It is within this context that many stakeholders in Ondo Central Senatorial District have declared that Senator Adeniyi Ayodele Adegbonmire, SAN represents the only way to good governance for the district.

Good governance is not an accident. It is the product of competence, character, capacity, and compassion. It is the ability to understand the law and use it to serve the people. It is the courage to speak truth to power while bringing dividends of democracy to the doorstep of the common man. By all measures, Senator Adegbonmire embodies these qualities.

His credentials are not in doubt. As a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, he brings deep knowledge of the law to public service. As a Ranking Senator, he understands the inner workings of the National Assembly and the importance of seniority in legislative business. As a grassroots politician, he maintains strong connection with his constituents across the six local government areas of Ondo Central.

A review of his first term shows impact across key sectors. In legislation, Senator Adegbonmire has sponsored and co-sponsored bills with direct bearing on the lives of ordinary citizens. These include bills on education aimed at securing the future of young people, bills on agriculture to empower farmers and improve food security, bills on judicial reform to strengthen justice delivery, and bills on social welfare to protect vulnerable groups. His legislative intervention has been described by observers as having a human face.

In representation, Ondo Central has found in him a voice that cannot be ignored in the chambers of the National Assembly. During budget defence and oversight functions, he has consistently protected the interests of the district. His knowledge of parliamentary rules, coupled with his network across party lines, has enabled him to lobby effectively for projects and defend the district’s share of federal presence.

Political analysts argue that this record is what good governance looks like. It is visible. It is measurable. It is felt by the people at the grassroots.

It would mean sending a freshman to a legislative chamber where seniority and experience determine influence. It would mean losing the district’s voice at the table where critical national decisions are made. Ultimately, it would mean delaying the development of the district.

The popular sentiment in the district is captured in the slogan: One good term deserves another. The reward for good work, they say, is more work. The political equation being advanced is simple: 4+4 = 8. Eight years of quality representation. Eight years of purposeful leadership. Eight years of good governance for Ondo Central.

Supporters of the Senator maintain that the district cannot afford to gamble with its future. They argue that there is no need to experiment with leadership when there is already a proven performer in office. According to them, Senator Adegbonmire is tested. He is trusted. He is working.

For many in Ondo Central, the road to good governance is clear. It has a name. It has a face. It has a track record. That road, they insist, is Senator Adeniyi Ayodele Adegbonmire, SAN.

The call across the district is for consolidation of the gains recorded so far and for completion of the work that began in 2023. The message from his supporters is direct: Follow who know road.
