FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
The *Mikey* Media Office strongly condemns the deliberate removal and destruction of campaign posters of *Hon. Michael Afolabi Olakunle, MIKEY,* across *Akure North and Akure South* Local Government Areas. The incidents were most pronounced along the Central Mosque to Cathedral axis, a major corridor that connects thousands of residents daily.
This coordinated act is a clear attack on democratic norms and a sign of political intolerance. Removing posters does not remove the candidate from the ballot or from the hearts of the people. It only exposes fear from those who cannot match *MIKEY’s* grassroots acceptance and issue-based campaign.
We call on the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services, and the Independent National Electoral Commission to investigate these acts of vandalism, arrest the perpetrators, and guarantee a level playing field for all candidates. The peace of *Akure* must not be threatened by politics of bitterness.
We appeal to our teeming supporters to remain law abiding, peaceful, and focused. Our campaign remains people-driven and issue-based. No amount of sabotage will distract us from engaging voters on education, jobs, infrastructure, and inclusive governance.
*Democracy* thrives when ideas compete, not when posters are torn. The voice of the people will not be silenced. The vision of *Hon. Michael Afolabi Olakunle* for *Akure North and Akure South* remains on course.
Signed:
Mikey Media Office
