NIGERIAN ENVIRONMENTAL SOCIETY (NES) ONDO CHAPTER CELEBRATES 2026 WORLD EARTH DAY

Amid rising global temperatures, increasing extreme weather events, and alarming biodiversity loss, NES, Ondo Chapter highlighted key solutions shaping
a more sustainable future. These include the transition to clean energy sources such as solar, wind, CNG, and green hydrogen; embracing a circular economy through waste reduction and recycling and strengthening biodiversity conservation through reforestation and ecosystem protection.
The Society also urged the Ondo State Government to preserve green spaces, halt excessive hard scaping of median roads in Akure, and safeguard vital green belts across the state.
As part of its commitment, NES amplified environmental advocacy through radio engagements on Fresh FM 109.2 and Positive FM 102.5, and distributed 30 fruit seedlings to participants, planting both knowledge and hope for a greener tomorrow.
