The veteran actor, Adebayo Salami, popularly known as Oga Bello has revealed that he knew his first wife, Alhaja Ejide Adebayo since their primary school days.
According to him, it all started when he constantly gave her punishments as her school senior whenever she did anything wrong. But along the line, the poor young girl started buying and bringing some snacks and foods for him, and from there they became close friends.
In a fascinating interview, flashing back on their 45 years of marriage, Oga Bello said he and his sweetheart had already had feelings for each other in primary school, but were completely ignorant of the word, "love", until they got to secondary level. At that stage they had become more matured and sensitive.
While reflecting on how he got himself into polygamy, the star actor said, "all I wanted was, me and my wife, but Almighty Allah said that was not my destiny." He confessed that though he didn't like the way he was having affairs with other women, yet he found it difficult to stop the acts, and thus became a polygamist.
Mr Salami also has some of his children doing great exploits in the film industry, with the most popular and successful being, Femi Adebayo - a great physical replica of his father.
