THE DAILY LIGHT: Joy in the Face of Persecution

July 1, 2023

TEXT FOR TODAY:
Act 5:41
The apostles left the Sanhedrin, rejoicing because they had been counted worthy of suffering disgrace for the Name.

ADMONITION:
After being accused of preaching the Gospel, the Apostles were flogged and instructed never to preach at the temple again. But in contrary, they returned to their business of Evangelism, fearing no man but GOD. The Bible says they were joyous for being counted worthy to suffer disgrace for JESUS. What are we sacrificing for the Gospel sake? Can we, and are we enduring disgrace for the Gospel sake? As usher in the Church, as a choir member, Sunday School teacher, Children teacher, are we not threatening to resign because a Church member insulted us? How much can we endure persecution for JESUS' sake? These are inevitable for anyone who is desirous of wearing the Crown with CHRIST in His Glory. We must accept every pain with fullness of joy in our heart.

SUPPLICATION:
Our heavenly Father, we thank You for counting us worthy to be among Your flock. Please revive us LORD, so that we will always be joyful for serving you, even in the face of persecution, in the Name of JESUS CHRIST our LORD. Amen.
