TEXT FOR TODAY:
1 Peter 2:24
He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, so that we might die to sins and live for righteousness; by his wounds you have been healed.
ADMONITION:
JESUS CHRIST had shouldered our burden on the Cross so that we can be free. The tree (The Cross) is a symbol of pains and sacrifice, and never stands for enjoyment. On the Cross, He has paid our debts of sin, he has restored our relationship with the Father, He has renewed our spiritual strength which the devil had weakened at the early stage of humanity, He had suffered for us to enjoy, He has defeated death completely, thereby giving us a hope of living forever in the heavenly Jerusalem. Brethren, we now have a _blank cheque_ , either to live, or perish. But it is wiser to choose life. Let's be sober for our sins this morning, confess all to Him who can forgive - looking at JESUS CHRIST hanging on The Cross, let us repent and then surrender our lives completely to Him. Do not nail Him to the Cross the second time, which will be to your own detriment.
SUPPLICATION:
Everlasting Father we thank You for what You have done for us on The Cross of Calvary, we hereby ask for forgiveness of all our sins, and we pray that Your agony and pains on The Cross will not be in vain over us, in the mighty Name of our LORD JESUS CHRIST. Amen.
