Topic : Restitution

Text : Luke 19: 8-10

Restitution is giving back what was wrongly or forcefully taken from someone else.

Restitution can be done by words, i.e., confessing to God or by giving to the people we took things from wrongly or forcefully.

Restitution is done to restore peace to those we've erred, to oneself and to restore peace between ourselves and most importantly with God.

Restitution should  be done on time, before death.

Whatever we might have borrowed and have failed to return, we should endeavor to return them appropriately.

Restitution can be done between husband and wife, family, friends, etc.

Using your housekeep money for contribution is stealing, confess to your spouse, then return the monies when you collect the contribution.

Forgiveness is incomplete without restitution.

If you've not paid your wife's dowry, go and do so immediately.

If you have children outside wedlock, confess to your spouse.

Confess all your sins to God.

When you spend Church money, confess, even after you might have replaced them.

Exaggeration/lies on the altar of God is a sin.

Restitution brings about love.

God loves restitution as it's a way we check ourselves so as not to go back into sin.

Women, whatever sin your husband might have committed, once he has confessed and asked you for forgiveness, you must forgive him completely and embrace him again.

Don't curse your husband. If you curse your husband, definitely you are cursing your children, and vice versa.
