It would be recalled that the Organized Labour called for a meeting of all workers in the State on the 24th of November, where the 'go-ahead' was given to the Union Leaders for signing of agreement with the government thus: payment of five months deductions which is the balance of May - September salaries, two months subvention to tertiary institutions, and payment of September salary to pensioners, all within one week.
However, it's over two weeks now, and the State government is yet to pay any of the deductions, despite the various announcements on media that the government has paid workers up to date.
Currently, no worker in the State has received October and November salaries, which means December salary has not come to the table of discussion at all.
Based on the above worrisome issues, the Organized Labour have concluded arrangement to hold a crucial meeting with the next 24 hours and come out with a decisive decision which could interrupt the current industrial peace in the State. Workers are been advised to stay connected and be ready for the next appropriate showdown.
