i. Love: It is commonsensical to believe that the reason why you married each other in the first instance is because you love each other, and the light of the love must never go dim, but continue to radiate.
ii. Patience: The two of you must be dealing with each other with patience, especially when there is quarrel or misunderstanding, because two angry people at the same time might not be able to make peace.
iii. Perseverance: Marriage works better when two people can endure anything with each other. Whatever might be the challenges at any point in time, once you can face it together, you are going to come out stronger.
iv. Support: Since the Bible recognizes you as one, then you must be a supportive pillar to each other. The said support must cut across every area, that is, financially and morally.
v. Settle your disputes between you: Don't ever expose your differences to a third party, but always try to settle your quarrels on your own.
vi. Do not cheat: Faithfulness and honesty are very key factors that uphold marriage. Once you are married, there is no any justification for you to share your wife's or husband's love with any other person.
vii. Be open to each other: Hiding things for each other won't give room for trust between you, but the more you can confide in each other, the better for you it is.
viii. Respect: Lack of respect for each other has been a major reason of collapse in so many marriages. Any marriage where couples curse, abuse or beat each other, will most times find it difficult to flourish.
ix. Trust: This must be balanced on both sides. Because if one person trusts and the other doesn't, it might result in frustration.
x. WORD of GOD and Prayer: Always equip your marriage with the Word of God because this is where you can get the wisdom needed to paddle the canoe of your union. Then, pray constantly too as this will serve as the strength needed to support your home spiritually.
