WISDOM;
Proverb 15:1
A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.
COUNSELING;
One of the greatest determinants of a man's breakthrough is the way he uses his tongue. The tongue, as small as it is, according to James 3:5, can build a city, and at the same time, pull down a whole Nation.
One of the deadliest linkage between devilish speech/tongue and destruction is, 'pride'. The Bible cautions against boasting and pride in Jeremiah 9:23. Pride starts from the inner (thoughts), and comes to manifestation through utterances. But whichever way it comes, when it occurs, destruction looms.
ADMONITION;
As specified in the Scripture, whenever we have to make use of our tongues, we must apply wisdom. A YES can cause peace to reign in a community, and a YES can mean a declaration of war in a city as well.
In all, as humans, we have to be careful with all our utterances, because every speech is a test of wisdom.
CONCLUSION;
The Book of Colossians 4:6 charges us to be conscious of the right response to every word and person. Therefore, as Christians, we must be highly disciplined in the use of our tongues and speeches. A Christian is not expected to be a careless talker or talkative, but to be a symbol of high moral quality in humility, decency and godliness.
