The highly rated Benin monarch, Omo N'oba Nedo Uku Akpolokpolo Oba Ewuare II, had on Thursday warned every false information carrier to desist from such act, as there are ancestral curses on ground for whoever lies against his royalty. He said this in a statement signed by the Secretary to the Benin Traditional Council, Frank Irabor while debunking the rumours flying around that the monarch had already endorsed a particular governorship candidate for the next election in the State.
The royal father, in the said release, revealed that it has always been his Prayer that God should give Edo people a governor that will respect traditional institution and also make the people's interest his priority.
In his advice to the political players in the State, he warned that they should stop exposing their dark sides in public. The statements read thus; "We believe all qualified aspirants in any elective office should be given a level-playing field, for democracy to develop to the next level in Nigeria. Political actors should mature up and learn not to wash their dirty linen in public".
The traditional ruler also maintained that he's against god-fatherism and imposition of any form, and advised every political party to give all aspirants equal opportunities in their various primary elections.
